When I grow up...

Most preschoolers love to dress up and my two are no different. For their birthday this year, Grandpa John and Grandma BB helped stock up our dress-up trunk with lots of fun outfits. Most of the time they play dress up while I'm cooking dinner or lunch so I can't grab many shots, but here are a few I've grabbed since we got the cool loot.
On this day, Princess Abby joined us for lunch.
Abby loves the police outfit. I think it's really the handcuffs...
Even Lily gets in on the action, too cute!
One of the favorites are the fairy wings. Of course Jake loves them too. We have two pair and often they put them on and run around outside with them on.
Thank you Grandpa John and Grandma BB for giving us AWESOME dress-up clothes!

WaterWorks - Part 2

Okay, so the next day I went to the store and got not one replacement sprinkler, but 3 new things. A crazy sprinkler, a slip-N-slide, and a baby pool for Lily. We are set now! Although next summer I'll probably get a different pool for the twins, maybe a slide or something.
(yes, we quickly learned how to aim the sprayers)

Her very own pool! Well it was hers for about 2 minutes then the twins decided they liked the flowers and butterflies too and "moved" in.

Let the WaterWorks Begin! - Part 1

We finally broke out all our water toys May 24th to officially kick off our summer. I pulled out the pool and sprinkler (the ones we've had since the kids' first b-day) and got everything set up. Well at least tried, the kids were a little impatient and couldn't wait for the pool to fill up and when we turned the sprinkler on the side seam split. Oh well, they still had a blast and this just gave me an excuse to get new water toys for the kiddos.

Family Pictures - April 2010

Most family has now seen the pictures from our family photo session in April with the wonderful Treva Tribit, but for those who haven't I've posted them on the sidebar of the blog. Definitely check them out. They are FABULOUS! Not only are they wonderful, but they were taken by my old BFF from 5th grade! How awesome is that! I couldn't have been happier to reconnect with Treva and extremely happy to find out we only live a few miles from each other. There are definitely some playdates in our future.
We purchased the CD with printing rights so if any family out there did not order prints from Treva and would like some, let me know and I can hook you up!

Daddy and Me

Jake is all about his Daddy and wants to be with him, doing everything he does, all the time. Last weekend John had to change the oil in the truck and decided to let Jake help him change the oil. I didn't get any pictures of them under the truck together, but did get a couple of pics of them adding the new oil to the truck. Jake had so much fun!

The Dallas Zoo

We have a family pass to the Dallas Zoo and love it, but I think we're going to love it even more since they opened the new Giants of the Savanna area. It's an open area with elephants, giraffes, lions, cheetahs, and more. You can even get up close to the giraffes and feed them ($5 for 5 lettuce leaves...I'm bringing my own head of lettuce next time!). This morning Jake had his last day of school, but I needed to get the girls out of the house for a bit so I decided we'd hit the zoo. We got there right when it opened and Abby started running around looking for the giraffes. We made our way back to the Savanna and had a blast running around and I even splurged and bought some way over priced romaine lettuce so she could feed the giraffes. The one by us must have been hungry because those five leaves lasted less than 2 minutes! Oh well, she had fun. After the Savanna we made our way to the children's area for a quick "dip" in the river and to see some chickens. Although Abby quickly found a very unfriendly rooster that didn't want to be picked up and let her know it. She escaped with a minor "bite" to her finger and then proceeded to look for the "little chickens". We were only there an hour and a half since we had to get Jake from the bus, but that's the beauty of a pass - we can come back next week!
First up...the elephants.

Next the giraffes!
(I would have picked her up but the attendant made me leave the stroller out of the area so I had lettuce, Lily and the camera in my hands :-)

Riding an elephant! We didn't have time for the carousel, but that didn't matter to Abby. She had a blast riding the elephants instead. And it's free!

Misc. pics of Lily

Just wanted to post a few recent pictures (taken during the month of May) of my sweet baby girl. She's getting so big and so independent now! And yes, you'll notice she sports a "bam bam" hairstyle most days.

Lily and her blankie.

Her first painting! She wasn't too sure of it in the beginning and of course tried to taste it, but she did have a bit of fun.

Being cheesey.

A quick morning nap.

She loves the doodle pad.

And of course, Lily and her very own Rody.
